For me, making music is mostly a solitary thing. I sing, write songs and play my guitar alone in the comfort of my home (sometimes to the annoyance of my children) because it’s what I love and need to do. Nothing more, nothing less.
But this tour of Spain was a huge reminder to me that music is most impactful when it’s a shared experience. I think it brings out the best in us, sometimes without us knowing it. I saw that through every person who helped behind the scenes, organised/promoted the shows, and of course, the good folks/friends that attended. Spanish music fans are remarkable. The joy, passion & kindness they give to my songs, band, and I is unparalleled. It still blows my mind after all these years! I’m beyond grateful.
Lastly, I want to pay tribute to my Spanish hermanos Pablo, Santi, Jon, Javi & Luque. Thank you for the deep respect you give to the music, your incredible musicianship, and your friendship. Gees we played great, ate well and had a lotta laughs on this tour. Even if it took me an extra minute to translate the punchline! Estoy tan feliz ahora mismo. Muchas gracias por esta experiencia y los increíble recuerdos.
I’ll be back España.
